OUR MISSION

Expert Training for Every Student

NW Trucking Academy is dedicated to expert training for every student who wants to become a professional truck driver. We teach the required basics for an entry-level position, complete with all mandatory endorsements, and help students find a position after they finish the program.

We also go beyond the basics with training most schools don't cover, like extended time on the road and coaching on life as a driver, including nutrition and exercise. For current CDL holders, we offer refresher training on the latest FMCSA rules and regulations.

David Stahl

Founder / Instructor

David Stahl founded NW Trucking Academy, Inc. and has been in the trucking industry since 1978. He has owned and driven many kinds of trucks and pulled lowboys, reefers, flatbeds and tankers. He became an owner-operator and started his own company, David Stahl Trucking, in 1995. David is passionate about training safe, qualified drivers. He believes bad drivers are the product of poor training, and he started NWTA to help fix that. He tailors his program to each student.

Steve Wilt

Owner / Instructor

That's Steve with his first truck in 1979. He brings more than 46 years of experience to NW Trucking Academy and has been involved in every part of the trucking industry. He became an owner-operator at a young age, responsible for finding customers, dispatching, driving and maintaining equipment, and he grew his operation to as many as 70 trucks and a brokerage. He has since downsized but is still very involved in the transportation business, and he's passionate about bringing qualified drivers into the industry.
